What's in a Gyro? A Look at Ours

A gyro is a Mediterranean classic: seasoned meat slow-roasted on a vertical rotisserie, carved thin, and wrapped in warm pita with fresh vegetables and sauce. Here is how we make ours.

The meat

We use halal gyro meats, chicken, beef, and lamb, seasoned and carved fresh to order. That fresh carve is what gives a good gyro its crisp edges and juicy center.

The pita, veggies, and sauce

Everything goes into warm pita with crisp lettuce, tomato, and red onion. Then comes the sauce. Our gyro is built around ziki sauce, and you can add garlic, house, spicy, or tahini to make it yours.

Three ways to enjoy it

• The classic pita or wrap: the traditional handheld, made to order.
• A loaded rice bowl: the same gyro over seasoned rice with veggies and sauce.
• On a salad: gyro over crisp greens for a lighter take.
